Division of Social Science

The Social Sciences Division addresses the mission of McKendree University with a special focus on a diverse society, the individual within society, the interaction between the two, and the social structures of our society. We provide an educational environment which will enable you to be knowledgeable about these factors and prepare you to think and write analytically and creatively about the problems of our society. You’ll be able to develop the expertise to research social issues and to be educated consumers of research. Expect to become contributing a professional in the fields of history, political science, sociology, or psychology. This is done within a framework of concern about ethical approaches to these issues and a sense of social responsibility toward them.
