Teaching Philosophy

I believe that all students can achieve both academic success in mathematics as well as learn to apply the importance of mathematics in everyday life. For me, this academic success includes all students reaching their own personal and educational goals and reaching their potential to be the best that they can be.

Students have diverse backgrounds, and I strive to create a classroom in which all students can thrive and grow. As an educator, I bring enthusiasm to any type of classroom/learning environment and express my joy of teaching mathematics each and every day. I firmly believe that a teacher needs to be someone who truly enjoys what they do. I am an educator who is fully prepared for each class period. I am always well-prepared in order to lead my class in a logical and consistent manner. I strive for my students to act responsibly, learn to be professional, and meet high standards in the classroom. Examples of these high standards are adhering to deadlines, producing high-quality work, interacting with one another and me in a professional and respectful manner, being inclusive, thinking critically, and displaying kindness toward oneself and others.

There are always opportunities for continual learning and growth as an educator. I will continue to put forth the effort to be the best educator that I can be.
