Pastor Aeneas Williams to Speak at the Hett on Feb. 23, 2012

Former St. Louis Ram Now Leads Spirit Church

(LEBANON, Ill., January 27, 2012) — Aeneas Williams, a Class of 2012 Pro Football Hall of Fame finalist, will speak at McKendree University on Thursday evening, Feb. 23. The former St. Louis Ram, who is a pastor, will talk about faith, dedication and hard work as a guest of the university’s Distinguished Speaker Series.

The program, which is open to the public, begins at 7:30 p.m. at the Hettenhausen Center for the Arts on campus. Tickets are free but reservations are encouraged. Call the box office at 618-537-6863 Monday through Friday from noon to 4 p.m. or visit the Hettenhausen Center for the Arts website.

Williams played for 14 seasons in the National Football League, from 1991 to 2000 with the Arizona Cardinals and from 2001 to 2004 with the St. Louis Rams. During his long and successful career, he earned a reputation as a quiet leader—someone to seek out in the locker room to help put things in perspective. His life and career are a testament to the power of faith, courage and hard work.

The eight-time NFL All Pro cornerback retired from football in 2004 but continues to offer color commentary during televised games. Pastor Williams now leads services at the Spirit Church in St. Louis, which he founded with his wife, Tracy. His message of “Reaching Your Potential” is the foundation of his speaking engagements to NFL teams, corporations and ministries across the country. Prior to entering the ministry, he authored the book, “It Takes Respect.”
