U.S. News Ranks McKendree's Online MBA Program in Top 100

Lebanon, Ill. — McKendree University’s MBA online program is among the top 100 “Best Online Graduate Business Programs” for 2013, according to U.S. News & World Report.

Colleges and universities were scored based on their level of accreditation, reputation for excellence among peer institutions, and academic and career support services offered to students. Also factoring in the ratings were student engagement, admission selectivity, peer reputation, faculty credentials and training, student services and technology.

According to its website, usnews.com, U.S. News’ data research team surveyed public, private and for-profit institutions that offer a master’s in business or MBA program through internet-based distance education courses. The results are based on survey responses and statistics from 213 institutions that provided data in 2012.

“Developing the E-Learning MBA was a year-long project involving almost the entire faculty of the School of Business,” said Dr. Frank Spreng, director of the MBA program at McKendree University. “The benefits from those efforts a few years ago are considerable. We now have about 135 students enrolled in online MBA courses. Many students could not be participating in graduate business education without the online option. The concept of online education gives options for many students and allows face-to-face students to mix and match courses, times and schedules.”

McKendree University offers graduate programs not only in business administration but also in education, professional counseling and nursing. Designed for adult learners and working professionals, evening and online classes are offered at the Lebanon, Ill., campus 25 miles from downtown St. Louis, and off-site locations.
