The Hett to Kick off the Holidays with Stunning Concerts this December

(LEBANON, Ill., November 15, 2022) – The Hettenhausen Center for the Arts (the Hett) at McKendree University will be welcoming in the holiday season with beautiful renditions of all your favorite holiday music from incredible bands and performers during the month of December. Dec. 9, 10 a.m. (Arts Ed., grades K-12); 7 p.m.; Dec. 10, 1 p.m. and 7 p.m.: The USAF Band of Mid-America Concert Band once more presents a stunning concert that will bring holiday cheer to concertgoers, an annual favorite on campus. Admission is free for all. Tickets are required for entry.

Dec. 12, 10 a.m. (Arts Ed., grades Pre-K-3) and 6:30 p.m.: It’s Okay to Be Different, Stories by Todd Parr with Mermaid Theatre of Nova Scotia is an hour-long production adapted and staged by Mermaid Theatre that showcases three of New York Times bestselling author and illustrator Todd Parr’s children’s books.

Dec. 14, 7 p.m.: Christmas Presence, featuring Terry Barber, a classically-trained countertenor who uses his broad range of pitch and color to breathe new life into holiday favorites. In what The L.A. Times calls “great performances of vitality and verve,” Barber has been a soloist for the best venues around the world from the Metropolitan Opera to Moscow’s Svetlanov Hall.
