A Celebration of Academic Excellence on April 25

(LEBANON, Ill., April 11, 2019) — McKendree University students will present their research, creative talent and collaborative work at the sixth annual Academic Excellence Celebration on Thursday, April 25.

A total of 329 student presenters, supported by 53 faculty and staff sponsors, will discuss or exhibit academic posters, projects and performances they have developed throughout the school year. Classes are not held so that students, faculty, staff members and guests may attend sessions featuring honors theses, capstone projects, research posters, an art show, honor society inductions, and performances at the Hettenhausen Center for the Arts.

The full day of events will include:

  • 112 research posters in Holman Library and Ames Dining Hall, 8:30 to 9:45 a.m.

  • 47 presentations in Piper Academic Center, Bothwell Chapel and Holman Library, 10 a.m. to noon.

  • Honors Convocation, recognizing graduating students for their academic accomplishments, Hettenhausen Center for the Arts, 1 p.m.

  • A student art exhibit and music ensembles, McKendree Gallery of Art in downtown Lebanon, 4 to 6 p.m.

  • 13 honor society induction ceremonies in the evening.

  • Dance Ensemble performance at the Hett, 7:30 p.m.
