McKendree University Celebrates Academic Excellence on April 25
(LEBANON, Ill., April 26, 2024) – McKendree University students presented their research, displayed their creativity, and came together as One McKendree to celebrate the university's 11th-annual Academic Excellence Celebration on Thursday, April 25.
A total of 200 student presenters and participants, supported by 27 faculty and staff sponsors, took part in the event by exhibiting posters or artwork, giving informative presentations, and putting on beautiful performances. Classes were not held during this day so that students, faculty, staff members, and guests alike could attend sessions featuring capstone projects, research posters, Honors theses, an art show, honor society inductions, and both a choral performance and a band concert at the Hettenhausen Center for the Arts.
The full day of events included:
- 47 research projects in Holman Library
- 25 presentations in Piper Academic Center
- A student art exhibit at the McKendree Gallery of Art
- A student choral concert at the Hett
- 13 honor society induction ceremonies in the afternoon and evening
The campus community capped off the event with a reception at 1828 Café on campus and a beautiful band performance in the evening.
