McKendree Show Choir Sings About Fame and Fortune, April 21 at the Hett
(LEBANON, Ill., April 6, 2018) — “Fame and Fortune” is the theme of the McKendree
University Show Choir’s spring show, at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday, April 21 at the Hettenhausen
Center for the Arts on campus. Admission is free but reservations are required.
“’Fame and Fortune’ chronicles the life of a striving performer, ranging from auditioning
to getting the role, to even being replaced,” said Adam Pulver, director. “It shows
the strength and persistence needed to make it to the top.” Songs will include “Let
Me Be Your Star” from “Smash,” “Diamonds Are a Girl’s Best Friend,” “The Impossible
Dream,” “Live in Living Color,” and more. The show is arranged by Robert Allen and
choreographed by Demetrius Morrow and Amilyn Johnson.
“We expect a full house,” said Pulver. “We do ask that all patrons bring canned food
items, which will be donated to the Lebanon Food Pantry.”

The McKendree University Show Choir combines vocals, choreography, staging, costuming
and production in versatile, entertaining performances of songs from different genres,
from gospel to Broadway. The university has offered over $1 million in Show Choir
Scholarships to students of all majors.
