McKendree University Offers Transfer Agreement to Lindenwood-Belleville Students

(LEBANON, Ill., May 30, 2019) — McKendree University is working with Lindenwood University (LU) to ensure a smooth transition for LU students who wish to transfer, following the announcement of the discontinuation of daytime classes at the Belleville, Ill., campus in 2020.

McKendree and Lindenwood have identified course equivalencies in the following disciplines and undergraduate degree programs: accounting, advertising, public relations-corporate communications, biology, business administration, criminology and criminal justice, educational studies, elementary education grades 1-6, English, exercise science, finance, history, interactive media and web design, marketing, mass communications, physical education K-12, pre-chiropractic, pre-nursing, pre-professional health sciences, psychology and sport management.

Day, evening and online classes are offered at McKendree’s Lebanon, Ill., campus or at its Center at Scott Air Force Base. Online courses are offered in an eight-week format and the courses offered through the Center at Scott Air Force Base are taught in a one-month format.  These formats may provide the opportunity for some students to accelerate degree completion.

LU seniors who want to stay on course to graduate in 2020 may be able to finish on time by taking classes at McKendree, said Chris Hall, vice president of admission and financial aid. McKendree can accept up to 90 hours of transfer credits (typically 30 classes), which could make it possible for a student to graduate a year after they transfer. The university will accept applications on a rolling basis and enroll students throughout the summer, until the start of Lebanon classes in August, or monthly into many online programs.

“We will work with students one on one to determine their best path to graduation,” said Hall. “We will continue to do all that we can to provide a high-quality educational experience for students wanting to continue their education in the metro-east. We will work with each student individually to assist with transcript evaluation and course articulation to ensure a smooth transition for students transferring in. We will also help them to access all financial aid available to make the McKendree experience possible.”
