Assistant Director Spotlight

Holly Weathers ’13 was promoted to assistant director of alumni relations in April. The former alumni relations and database assistant is now responsible for creating and writing marketing and advertising materials for the Alumni Association, coordinating major alumni events, supporting the development of new volunteer and networking opportunities that increase student and alumni engagement, and assisting in maintaining the integrity of the database and alumni stewardship.

Her role as a professional is an extension of her college education in organizational communication and her student experience as a phonathon caller, senior class gift committee member, alumni relations officer for Kappa Sigma Tau, and student worker in the Development, Alumni and Parent Relations Office.

“Being involved in many different student activities and programs at McKendree really allowed me to find a passion in my work.”

“Being involved in many different student activities and programs at McKendree really allowed me to find a passion in my work,” said Holly. “Working in the Development, Alumni and Parent Relations Office as a student opened my eyes to the world of non-profit work and I knew that I wanted to have a career where I was working to fulfill a bigger purpose. With my ties to the institution and my love of McKendree, I knew this would be the perfect place to start my career. I want to be part of the future of the institution and assist in providing an even better McKendree experience for future Bearcats.”

Holly belongs to a family with a strong affinity to McKendree. The daughter of McKendree alumnus Brad Weathers ’76, and younger sister to Lindsay (Weathers) Fark ’07, M.A.Ed. '11 and Patrick ’11, Holly fell in love with the campus at a young age. Her passion for McKendree has grown over the years, from the strong bonds she has developed with her sisters in Kappa Sigma Tau to meeting her fiancé Derek Sallee ’13, MBA ’16 on campus. Holly is excited about her new role and looks forward to the future growth of the Alumni Association.
